Join our roster of talented teaching artists!

Textile Center is expanding its roster of contract Teaching Artists to lead engaging fiber art classes and outreach activities in the Twin Cities and across Minnesota. If you have a passion for fiber art and working with people of all ages, we invite you to apply!

As a teaching artist, you will help participants learn useful fiber art skills through hands-on projects that enhance wellbeing. You will build community through connecting learners and fiber art appreciators, and inspire them to create a beautiful and unique fiber art creations!

We seek Teaching Artists who:

  • are enthusiastic advocates of fiber art.
  • have experience with a variety of fiber mediums, including felting, weaving, and embroidery.
  • enjoy instructing groups of people of all ages and all levels of ability.

Artists who identify as indigenous, persons of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and/or members of other historically or systemically marginalized groups are encouraged to apply, irrespective of formal instructor education and/or teaching experience. If you have a strong skill set in fiber arts and are passionate about sharing your creative practice with others, please reach out to us!

Teach Onsite at Textile Center in Minneapolis:

Textile Center’s onsite classes include both adult classes as well as intergenerational classes. (To view our current adult and intergenerational class list, click here.)

Textile Center’s Onsite Teaching Artists are compensated at a base rate of $35/hr + bonuses for enrollment and set up.

Proposals for new onsite classes are accepted three times per year for the Summer, Fall, and Winter terms. To submit a class proposal, please complete this . We are currently accepting class proposals for the following terms:

Textile Center’s Outreach Teaching Artists are compensated $40/hr + mileage.
